2026 Winter Olympics: Medal Standings After Friday’s Events

The competition continues at Milan-Cortina 2026, with a tight race for the overall standings. Following Friday’s events, Norway retains its lead, closely followed by Italy, while the United States, Germany, and France remain in contention.

Norway Leads Ahead of Italy

Norway holds the top position with a total of 18 medals (8 gold, 3 silver, and 7 bronze). Italy is also credited with 18 medals (6 gold, 3 silver, and 9 bronze), but Norway edges ahead due to a greater number of gold medals.

The United States ranks third with 14 medals (4 gold, 7 silver, and 3 bronze), followed by Germany with 11 medals (4 gold, 4 silver, and 3 bronze), and France sits in fifth place with 10 medals (4 gold, 5 silver, and 1 bronze).

A Close Battle in the Middle of the Standings

Austria has amassed 12 medals (3 gold, 6 silver, and 3 bronze), while Japan displays a total of 14 medals (3 gold, 3 silver, and 8 bronze).

Sweden has won 8 medals (4 gold, 3 silver, and 1 bronze). Both Switzerland and the Netherlands each have a total of 7 medals, with Switzerland earning 4 gold, 1 silver, and 2 bronze, while the Netherlands has 3 gold, 3 silver, and 1 bronze.

Canada also shows a count of 7 medals, all of which are silver (3) and bronze (4), with no gold medals thus far.

Multiple Nations on the Podium

Other medal-winning nations include the Czech Republic (2 gold, 2 silver), Australia (2 gold, 1 silver), South Korea (1 gold, 1 silver, 2 bronze), and Slovenia (1 gold, 1 silver).

The United Kingdom and Kazakhstan have each secured one gold medal. China has a total of 4 medals (2 silver, 2 bronze), Poland has 2 silver medals, and New Zealand has 1 silver and 1 bronze.

Latvia boasts one silver medal, while Bulgaria has two bronze. Belgium and Finland each have secured one bronze medal, as we await the upcoming events that could alter the overall standings.
