The Five Keys of Al Quds: Moroccan Commitment in Action

SILEJ 2025: A Moroccan Animated Series Dedicated to Al Quds
The animated series “The Five Keys of Al Quds,” premiered Wednesday in Casablanca as part of the 3rd edition of the International Children’s and Youth Fair (SILEJ), highlights the deep connection of Moroccans to the holy city of Al Quds.
Produced by the Bayt Mal Al-Qods Acharif Agency, this series is an integral part of the educational app “Hayya,” designed for children and teenagers to enhance their understanding of the history, culture, and symbolism of this iconic city.
A Journey of Discovery Through the Holy City
“The Five Keys of Al Quds” follows the adventures of five children from various nationalities and faiths, brought together for a cultural competition. Together, they explore Al Quds for the first time, guided by the grandson of Haj Moussa Al-Rida, a Moroccan resistance fighter who supported Salah ad-Din during the city’s historic liberation.
Inspired by a narrative rich in history and symbolism, the series depicts the group’s journey from Rabat to Al Quds, traversing through a magical door that opens only with five keys and an olive branch. In this coming-of-age quest, the children explore sacred sites, ancient alleyways, and vibrant markets, while embracing values of peace, brotherhood, and tolerance.
A Digital Approach to Convey Universal Values
In his speech, Mohamed Salem Cherkaoui, director in charge of the Bayt Mal Al-Qods Acharif Agency, emphasized that this series aims to raise awareness among younger generations about the values of solidarity and Morocco’s commitment to Al Quds and Palestine.
The use of new technologies aligns with the goal of making the message accessible and interactive. The “Hayya” app allows young users to participate in contests, ask questions, and explore Al Quds’ culture in a fun and educational manner.
Moreover, Douaâ Charif, project director of “Hayya,” specified that the platform seeks to promote values of coexistence and intercultural dialogue. To reach an international audience, the content is available in Arabic, French, and English.
An Educational and Interactive Application
The “Hayya” app offers a wide variety of playful and educational content, including:
3D comic episodes,
augmented reality digital stickers,
and interactive mascots.
These digital tools invite children on an immersive journey to discover the spiritual and cultural heritage of Al Quds while fostering learning through play.
SILEJ: A Showcase of Youth Culture
The 3rd edition of the International Children’s and Youth Fair (SILEJ), which runs until Sunday in Casablanca, showcases over 45,000 titles dedicated to youth. The event gathers researchers, authors, and creators from Morocco and abroad to discuss a variety of themes: comics, children’s literature, digital content creation, and educational innovation.
Through this initiative, the fair confirms its role as a platform for creativity, education, and intercultural dialogue for younger generations.
