Inauguration of the International Agricultural Show in Paris: Morocco as Guest of Honor

Emmanuel Macron Inaugurates the International Agricultural Show in Paris with Moroccan Prime Minister
On Saturday morning in Paris, French President Emmanuel Macron officially inaugurated the International Agricultural Show (Salon International de l’Agriculture – SIA), alongside Moroccan Prime Minister Aziz Akhannouch.
During the ceremony, the two leaders cut the ribbon together, marking the official opening of the event. This edition of the show features Morocco as the first-ever foreign guest of honor, represented by a large delegation that includes the Minister of Agriculture, Marine Fisheries, Rural Development, and Water and Forests, Ahmed El Bouari; the Ambassador of His Majesty the King to Paris, Samira Sitail; as well as numerous stakeholders from Morocco’s agricultural sector and members of the French government.
After the inauguration ceremony, Mr. Akhannouch took the opportunity to sign the SIA’s guestbook.
The tribute to Morocco at this 2025 edition, running from February 22 to March 2, highlights the exceptional relationship between the two countries and showcases the uniqueness of the Franco-Moroccan partnership. It also pays homage to the Kingdom, which has become a regional and continental model for smart and sustainable agriculture.
Morocco has a 476-square-meter pavilion at the heart of the show, showcasing the richness and diversity of its agricultural sector.
Under the theme "A French Pride," this 61st edition of the SIA is expected to welcome over 600,000 visitors, exhibit approximately 4,000 animals, and host 1,000 exhibitors across a 16-hectare space distributed among 9 pavilions.
The honor bestowed upon Morocco during this event resonates with an upcoming occasion: next April, France will be the guest of honor at the International Agricultural Show in Meknès (Salon International de l’Agriculture de Meknès – SIAM), Morocco.
This exchange symbolizes the strong complementarity between the two nations, transcending mere commercial exchanges to tackle major challenges in the sector, including food security, water resource management, and agricultural innovation.
