The Ministry of National Education and Teachers’ Unions Assess Progress on the Implementation of the New Civil Servants’ Status

The Ministry of National Education, Preschool, and Sports announced on Thursday the results of the work carried out by the joint committee with the five most representative unions in the education sector, which convened the previous day in Rabat. The meeting was chaired by Mr. Mohamed Saad Berrada, the Minister of National Education, and was attended by several ministry officials.

This gathering was part of a series of meetings aimed at monitoring the implementation of the agreements made on December 10 and 26, 2023, as well as the provisions of the civil service statute pertaining to the Ministry of National Education. The minister expressed satisfaction regarding the progress achieved, emphasizing that over 80% of the targets have been met. He also underscored the importance of continuing the dialogue with the unions.

During this meeting, several important points were discussed, including the activation of Article 76 concerning access to inspector positions for various categories of guidance, planning, and financial affairs advisors. It was also decided to commence training for this activation on March 10.

Regarding professional competitions, the communiqué mentioned several key dates: March 29, 2025, for the qualifying secondary education teachers’ exam for the first grade, April 12 for the entrance exam to the Center for Orientation and Educational Planning, and April 19 for entry to the Training Center for Education Inspectors. The competition for access to the pedagogical administration training program is scheduled for April 26.

The meeting also provided an opportunity to review the organization of the assistant teachers’ recruitment exam, as well as the promotion of the categories relevant to Article 81. Participants agreed to continue holding joint committee meetings every Thursday to address outstanding issues. The next meeting, set for February 27, will focus on transfer movements and the organization of the competition for access to the first grade of the qualifying secondary education teaching framework.
