African Lion 2025: Morocco Hosts a Major Multinational Military Exercise

Under the High Instructions of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, Supreme Commander and Chief of Staff of the Royal Armed Forces, the Kingdom of Morocco is set to host the 21st edition of the military exercise “African Lion,” scheduled to take place from May 12 to May 23, 2025, across several strategic regions of the country.
Jointly organized by the Royal Armed Forces (FAR) and the United States Armed Forces, this large-scale military event will also see the participation of several allied nations, reinforcing its status as a flagship multinational exercise on the African continent.
The primary objective of “African Lion 2025” is to strengthen bilateral military cooperation between Morocco and the United States, develop interoperability among participating forces, and enhance response capabilities in complex multinational environments.
This significant military event actively contributes to promoting security, peace, and regional stability while highlighting Morocco’s strategic role as a central player in international military cooperation in Africa.
