After the Rain, the Fields Come to Life and Farmers Regain Their Smiles

Recent Rainfall Revives the Fields of the Gharb Region
The recent rainfall has restored lush greenery to the fields and plains of the Gharb region following a prolonged dry spell, bringing genuine relief and great satisfaction to farmers. These abundant rains have injected new dynamism into agricultural areas, particularly those dedicated to the cultivation of wheat, barley, sugar beets, and sugarcane.
Farmers in the region are now gearing up for the fertilization phase after the Rabat-Salé-Kénitra area recorded nearly 300 millimeters of rain—an ample amount to moisten the soil and herald a promising agricultural season ahead.
According to industry professionals, these showers are expected to invigorate the agricultural campaign. They have enabled the completion of the autumn crop program over an area of 284,000 hectares, encompassing cereals, legumes, forage crops, and sugar crops. Furthermore, they have facilitated the implementation of the winter crop program, particularly for vegetables, across 12,000 hectares.
Additionally, this rainfall has contributed to the enhancement of the region’s water resources, thereby alleviating pressure on the groundwater table, and has positively impacted livestock due to the improved condition of pastures.
