Agriculture Minister Discusses Livestock Feed Market with Industry Professionals

On Friday, Ahmed El Bouari, the Minister of Agriculture, Maritime Fisheries, Rural Development, and Water and Forests, held a consultative meeting in Rabat regarding the livestock feed market. This meeting brought together professionals from the milling industry, importers, and livestock feed producers.

Attendees included representatives from the National Milling Federation (FNM), the National Federation of Grain and Legume Merchants (FNCL), and the Association of Compound Feed Manufacturers (AFAC). The gathering was part of the implementation of a national program aimed at rebuilding the livestock herd, launched in accordance with the High Instructions of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, as noted in a statement from the Ministry of Agriculture, Maritime Fisheries, Rural Development, and Water and Forests.

During the meeting, the minister emphasized that this royal program is a strategic initiative whose success is critical in alignment with the High Instructions from the monarchy. He highlighted the commitment required from all stakeholders in the sector and stressed the importance of collective mobilization to protect the national herd and support farmers.

Bouari also pointed out that recent price fluctuations are occurring in a context where the availability of livestock feed is fully ensured at the national level. He called on professionals in the sector to take all necessary measures to maintain a smooth and responsible market operation, avoid any disruptions that could impact farmers, and ensure the full success of the herd rebuilding program.

Professional organizations expressed their commitment to supporting the implementation of the program by ensuring a regular and sufficient supply of livestock feed to enhance the efficiency of distribution channels. They noted that current supplies of both simple and compound feeds are adequate to meet market demands, especially during this peak demand period.

In conclusion, the minister underscored that the success of this royal initiative relies on adherence to commitments made and continuous coordination among all stakeholders, in a spirit of shared responsibility.
