Aguerd Returns After Three Weeks Away

A Key Player Returns for Olympique Marseille

After three weeks off the pitch, Olympique Marseille is finally set to welcome back an essential defensive player. Moroccan international defender Nayef Aguerd will make his return this Saturday against Toulouse FC, as confirmed by coach Roberto De Zerbi at a press conference.

De Zerbi Celebrates Aguerd’s Recovery

Roberto De Zerbi expressed his delight regarding the player’s return: “Aguerd should be back in the squad. It’s already good news to have him back.” The Italian manager believes that the defender’s recovery from a pelvic injury is progressing positively, which will be beneficial for the Marseille collective.

Injury Sustained Against Brest

Nayef Aguerd suffered his injury during Marseille’s 3-0 victory over Brest on November 8. This pelvic injury forced him to miss two friendly matches with the Moroccan national team against Mozambique and Uganda, held in Tangier as part of the preparations for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.

A Mainstay in the Moroccan National Team and a Significant Asset for OM

Trained at the Mohammed VI Football Academy, Aguerd has made 57 appearances with the Atlas Lions. Arriving in Marseille last September, he signed a contract for five seasons, extending until June 2030. His return is a major boost for OM, who hope to regain defensive stability thanks to his experience and leadership.
