Alert Bulletin: Heavy Rain and Strong Winds Anticipated from Friday to Saturday

The General Directorate of Meteorology issued an “orange” alert bulletin on Friday, January 30, 2026, warning of intense showers and locally violent winds across several regions of the Kingdom from Friday to Saturday.
Intense Rainfall Expected
Forecasts indicate significant precipitation amounts ranging from 40 to 60 mm in the provinces and prefectures of Al Aaraich, Al Hoceima, Taounate, and Chefchaouen.
In the areas of Moulay Yacoub, Ouezzane, and Tétouan, rainfall is expected to vary between 20 and 40 mm.
These precipitation events are set to begin at 11:00 AM this Friday and will continue until 6:00 AM Saturday morning.
Locally Strong Winds
At the same time, several regions will experience locally strong winds, with gusts reaching between 75 and 90 km/h. The affected areas include the provinces and prefectures of Midelt, Taourirt, Oujda-Angad, Nador, Jerada, Berkane, Driouch, M’dig-Fnideq, Tétouan, Fahs-Anjra, Chefchaouen, Taza, Guercif, Al Hoceima, Boulemane, Figuig, Tinghir, and Ouarzazate.
These strong winds are expected to commence at 11:00 AM this Friday and last until 12:00 PM Saturday, necessitating heightened vigilance and preventative measures.
