Arrest of a French National Sought by Interpol in Casablanca

International Arrest Made in Casablanca: French-Algerian Suspect Detained
The judicial police services of Casablanca arrested a 38-year-old French national of Algerian descent on Thursday, following an international arrest warrant issued by French authorities. The man has been convicted for serious assault and was the subject of an Interpol Red Notice.
According to security sources, the arrest took place in Casablanca. A check in the Interpol database confirmed that the suspect was actively sought to serve a prison sentence imposed on him by French authorities in mid-2024, stemming from a knife attack that targeted several individuals.
The suspect has been placed in police custody, in accordance with the instructions of the competent prosecutor’s office, as part of the extradition procedure outlined by Moroccan law and applicable international conventions.
This arrest underscores the unwavering commitment of the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN) to international security cooperation, particularly in the pursuit of individuals wanted for transnational crimes.
