Nine Real Sociedad Supporters Injured in Lazio Ultras Attack Ahead of Europa League Match

Nine supporters of the Spanish club Real Sociedad were injured, with one in serious condition, on Wednesday night in Rome during an attack carried out by Ultras of the Italian team Lazio. This incident occurred the evening before the two clubs were scheduled to face each other at the Olympic Stadium for the UEFA Europa League, according to local media reports.

The Spanish fans were in the tourist district of Monti, located in the heart of the Italian capital, when they were assaulted by Lazio Ultras. Reports indicate that some individuals were attacked with knives, and the assailants, dressed in black and wearing hooded sweatshirts, employed fireworks and smoke bombs during the attack.

Police, alerted by witnesses, confirmed that the attackers were indeed Lazio Ultras, who assaulted their victims with hammers, knives, and iron bars. Multiple arrests have been made, and authorities are currently reviewing security camera footage from the neighborhood to identify those responsible. The police are also investigating whether the assault was premeditated.
