Berrechid: SRM Mobilization in Response to Heavy Rains

In Response to Heavy Rainfall: Regional Services Mobilize in Berrechid

In light of the significant rainfall recorded in recent days, the Regional Multiservices Company of Casablanca-Settat has deployed teams across the Berrechid province to facilitate rainwater drainage and mitigate the effects of adverse weather conditions.

Amid heightened vigilance, the company has intensified its intervention measures to maintain smooth traffic flow on both roads and railways, protect public infrastructure, and prevent the risk of flooding in urban areas. These actions are supported by proactive measures and an operational organization tailored to the exceptional climatic situation.

All municipalities within the province are involved in this mobilization, which is conducted under the Provincial Monitoring Commission, led by the governor. The objective is to minimize the impact of the heavy rains recently experienced.

Mohammed El Qebbaj, the provincial director of SRM in Berrechid, stated that all human and material resources of the company were mobilized as soon as the first rainfall occurred, noting that recorded precipitation levels exceeded 250 millimeters.

The operations, carried out in close coordination with local authorities, security services, and civil protection, as well as in collaboration with municipal councils, have notably enabled the deployment of seven tanker trucks: four assigned to the city of Berrechid and three distributed among El Gara, Deroua, and Soualem. Several pumps have also been utilized, with around fifty agents from the company and its subcontracting partners engaged in the effort.

Additionally, field teams, including units specialized in the maintenance and cleaning of sewage networks, have been positioned at key rainwater retention points. This intervention has accelerated their drainage, limited material damage, and ensured the safety of both road and rail traffic.
