Casablanca Stock Exchange Opens Lower After Last Week’s Gains

The Casablanca Stock Exchange began trading this Monday with a slight decline, following a strong upward movement recorded at the end of last week. Its primary index, the MASI, dropped by 0.08%, settling at 19,966.85 points.

The MASI 20 index, which includes the 20 most liquid stocks, fell by 0.04%, reaching 1,633.91 points, while the MASI ESG—assessing companies based on their environmental, social, and governance performance (as rated by Moody’s ESG Solutions)—decreased by 0.12% to 1,359.82 points.

In contrast, the MASI Mid and Small Cap index, which tracks the performance of small and mid-cap stocks, rose by 0.83%, reaching 1,946.02 points.

Mixed Individual Performances

Among the notable declines of the day, we find:

  • CMGP Group: -8.85% at 401 MAD
  • Sothema: -4.27% at 1,747 MAD
  • Stroc Industrie: -4.03% at 213.05 MAD
  • Réalisations Mécaniques: -2.35% at 532.1 MAD
  • Taqa Morocco: -2.27% at 2,883 MAD

Conversely, several stocks managed to outperform the market, posting notable gains:

  • IB Maroc.com: +7.81% at 79.9 MAD
  • Mutandis SCA: +6.06% at 314.95 MAD
  • Delta Holding: +3.37% at 88.9 MAD
  • Jet Contractors: +3.2% at 2,680 MAD
  • SMI: +2.85% at 2,493 MAD

It is worth noting that the MASI index concluded Friday’s trading session with a significant increase of 1.85%.
