CHU Mohammed VI Agadir: A Center of Medical Excellence

The Mohammed VI University Hospital Center in Agadir represents a significant advancement in strengthening healthcare infrastructure in the Souss-Massa region. Inaugurated on November 3rd under Royal High Instructions, this facility aims to ensure equitable access to high-quality care for the entire regional population.

According to its director, Dr. Ali Bataal, the hospital is equipped with cutting-edge technical facilities, including robotic surgery platforms, state-of-the-art digital operating rooms, and emergency and intensive care units that meet the strictest international standards.
The Mohammed VI University Hospital Center in Agadir is now the first institution in Africa to incorporate the “Revo I” surgical robot, a technology that allows for minimally invasive procedures with micrometer precision, high-definition 3D vision, and optimal surgical comfort for both medical teams and patients.

In addition to providing care, this facility will play a crucial role in training, research, innovation, and medical expertise. Together with the Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacy of Agadir, the hospital lays the foundation for a true regional center of medical excellence.

With an investment of 3.1 billion dirhams, the hospital features several specialized centers, including maternity and pediatric services, surgical and medical units, radiology, and cardiology. It also includes a central operating room with 19 surgical suites, an emergency unit with five rooms, a burn unit, a laboratory, a pharmacy, and an integrated training and simulation system.
The opening of this hospital has been positively received by the inhabitants of Souss-Massa. With its advanced capabilities, the Mohammed VI University Hospital Center will significantly reduce travel to other major cities like Rabat or Casablanca for complex interventions or conditions requiring state-of-the-art equipment.

Thus, this new establishment positions itself as a major lever for the sustainable improvement of healthcare services and the elevation of medical standards throughout the region.
