Government Council Approves Regulation for CNSS Board of Directors
The Government Council, convened on Thursday in Rabat, has approved draft decree No. 2.25.641 concerning the Board of Directors of the National Social Security Fund (CNSS). This proposal was presented by the Minister of Economic Inclusion, Small Business, Employment, and Skills, Younes Sekkouri, on behalf of the Minister of Economy and Finance, Nadia Fettah.
This draft decree aims to implement the provisions of Article 7 of the Dahir Law No. 1.72.184 dated July 27, 1972, regarding the social security system, as amended and supplemented, particularly by Law No. 02.24 promulgated by Dahir No. 1-25-02 on February 20, 2025. This was revealed by the Minister Delegate responsible for Relations with Parliament and Government Spokesperson, Mustapha Baitas, during a press briefing following the Council meeting. The decree is intended to clarify which governmental authorities will represent the state on the CNSS Board of Directors, along with the procedure for appointing board members designated by the Prime Minister.
Additionally, the draft regulation aims to establish how to calculate the number of seats allocated to representatives of workers and employers affiliated with the most representative trade union and professional organizations at the national level, as well as the methods for these organizations to propose their representatives.
Furthermore, the proposal outlines the circumstances leading to the loss of board membership and the conditions for replacing the concerned member for the remainder of their term.
