Continuation of the construction of several small dams to enhance water resources in the Sebou Basin

The Agency for the Sebou Hydraulic Basin continues its efforts to enhance surface water resources in the Sebou basin through the implementation of several dam projects. These initiatives aim to support irrigation, livestock watering, and flood protection.
Main Dam Under Construction
Among these projects, the Hamd Allah Dam in the Sidi Kacem province, located on the Hamd Allah River, stands out with a storage capacity of 1.53 million cubic meters and a construction progress rate of 31%. This dam addresses the needs for irrigation, livestock watering, and flood protection.
Construction of Complementary Small Dams
The Agency is also involved with several small dams in the startup phase, including:
Ain Nakra Dam (Boulemane province, on the Dardoura River) – capacity: 1.26 million cubic meters.
Meskdal Dam (Boulemane province, on the Meskdal River) – capacity: 5 million cubic meters.
Rehabilitation of the Bouhout Dam (Al Hoceima province, on the Si Bouhoute River) – capacity: 80,000 cubic meters.
Al Anassar Dam (Chefchaouen province, on the Al Anassar River) – capacity: 220,000 cubic meters.
The total cumulative capacity of these projects reaches 8.09 million cubic meters, highlighting the significance of these undertakings in strengthening surface water resources in the Sebou basin.
These works reflect the commitment of the Sebou Basin Agency to meet the needs for irrigation, livestock watering, and flood protection through concrete and structural projects.
