Cybersecurity and AI: Youth at the Heart of the Digital Debate in Rabat

A Unique Mobilization Around Digital Issues
From April 2 to 4, Rabat hosted the inaugural EMC Youth MUN, an event that brought together over 100 high school and university students to discuss significant digital challenges. Organized as part of Safer Internet Day Morocco 2026, this initiative highlighted key themes such as cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, and digital citizenship.
An Immersion in International Diplomacy
Inspired by the model of the United Nations, this simulation allowed participants to take on the roles of diplomats. Through debates and negotiations, the youth gained a deeper understanding of digital governance mechanisms while developing essential skills such as public speaking, critical thinking, and the art of compromise.
Enriched Discussions with Key Stakeholders
The event was distinguished by the participation of institutions, international organizations, and technology companies, providing young people with a rare opportunity to engage directly with industry experts. These interactions addressed sensitive topics like online safety and the impact of algorithms.
Towards Sustainable Engagement from Youth
Beyond the educational experience, the ambition is to transform the recommendations made into concrete contributions. The initiative aims to position young people as active participants in discussions about a more responsible, inclusive, and secure digital landscape.
