Digital Transformation: The House of Representatives Speeds Up
The House of Representatives is continuing to modernize its institutional and digital communication to enhance transparency and dialogue with the media and the national public. This was stated by the President of the House, Rachid Talbi El Alami, during the presentation on Friday in Rabat of the budget proposals for the two Chambers of Parliament for the fiscal year 2026 before the Finance and Economic Development Committee.
According to Mr. Talbi El Alami, several strategic initiatives have been implemented to strengthen Parliament’s openness to its environment and ensure a broad and reliable dissemination of parliamentary information. Among these initiatives is the launch of the “Media Box” audiovisual studio, a modern facility designed to showcase parliamentary work and enhance the media presence of the institution.
The President also emphasized the significant impact of the live broadcasting of the debates on the 2026 Finance Bill (PLF 2026), conducted in strict accordance with the internal regulations approved by the Constitutional Court. The recorded statistics demonstrate a growing public engagement: 3.2 million views on Facebook, 355,000 on YouTube, which equated to 55,400 hours of viewing, as well as 1.2 million views on Instagram. Additionally, the official channel of the House gained 3,700 new subscribers.
The Flickr platform dedicated to photographic archives has also achieved 20,000 daily views, a clear indicator of the renewed public interest in parliamentary work and discussions held in committees.
From a technological standpoint, Mr. Talbi El Alami highlighted the ongoing efforts aimed at accelerating the digital transformation toward a secure and efficient electronic Parliament. These efforts include:
the complete digitization of the legislative process;
the integration of artificial intelligence into documentation;
the gradual digitalization of parliamentary and administrative procedures;
the enhancement of cybersecurity;
the improvement and diversification of the House’s digital presence on its official portal and social media.
These actions are part of a comprehensive modernization strategy aimed at improving institutional efficiency, ensuring the security of systems, and providing citizens with simplified and transparent access to parliamentary information.
