Donald Trump plans a trip to Saudi Arabia as early as next month.

Title: Trump Announces Possible Visit to Saudi Arabia Next Month

On Monday, American President Donald Trump stated that he could visit Saudi Arabia as early as "next month" for his first foreign trip since returning to the White House. In a press statement, Trump clarified that in addition to Saudi Arabia, he is also considering visiting Qatar and potentially other countries in the region, including the United Arab Emirates. "The UAE is very important… so we will surely stop in the UAE and Qatar," he added.

During his previous term (2017-2021), Donald Trump made his first international trip to Saudi Arabia, a Gulf monarchy closely allied with the United States. Currently, indirect talks regarding Ukraine are also taking place in Saudi Arabia, organized by the U.S.

While the relationship between Trump and the Saudi government has been particularly strong, the latter has categorically rejected the notion of a "forced relocation" of Palestinians from the Gaza Strip, following the announcement in February of a U.S. plan for the takeover of the territory.

Despite Washington’s attempts to bring its two major Middle Eastern partners closer together, Riyadh has ruled out any normalization of relations with Israel without the establishment of a Palestinian state, a condition rejected by the Israeli government under Benjamin Netanyahu.

During Trump’s first term, several Arab countries, including Morocco, Bahrain, and the United Arab Emirates, normalized their relations with Israel. While Saudi Arabia did not participate in these Abraham Accords, it has nonetheless sent signals of a potential normalization. However, this initiative has largely been abandoned following the outbreak of war in Gaza in October 2023, triggered by Hamas’s attack on Israel.
