U.S. Military “Completely Destroys” Military Targets on Iran’s Kharg Island, Trump Warns of Further Action

On Friday evening, President Donald Trump announced that the U.S. military had “completely destroyed” military targets on Kharg Island, a key oil hub in Iran. He further threatened to target the island’s oil infrastructure should the Iranian regime hinder the safe passage of vessels through the strategic Strait of Hormuz.

“I chose not to destroy the oil infrastructures of the island. However, if Iran, or anyone else, takes any action to obstruct the free and safe passage of ships in the Strait of Hormuz, I will immediately reconsider my decision,” the American president posted on his Truth Social platform.

The White House occupant claimed that the U.S. military “conducted one of the most powerful air raids in history in the Middle East, completely destroying all military targets” on Kharg.

President Trump also stated that the U.S. Navy would soon begin escorting oil tankers through the Strait of Hormuz, which is vital for 20% of the world’s oil production.

Located about 30 kilometers off the northern coast of the Gulf, Kharg is a brushy strip of land that hosts Iran’s largest crude oil export terminal.

Earlier that day, the U.S. announced a $10 million reward for information leading to the whereabouts of ten prominent Iranian leaders, including the new Supreme Leader, Mojtaba Khamenei.

The health status of Mojtaba Khamenei remains uncertain after he was reportedly injured in a bombing, with U.S. Secretary of War Pete Hegseth suggesting that he is “probably disfigured.”

According to multiple American news outlets, the U.S. is expected to send reinforcements to the Middle East soon, including 2,500 Marines and three additional ships.
