A working meeting took place on Friday in Casablanca between Ali Tazi and Nezar Abou Ismail, co-chairs of the Morocco-Egypt Business Council, and Ahmed Nihad Abdellatif, the Egyptian ambassador to Morocco. This meeting was held in preparation for the Moroccan economic mission scheduled to take place in Cairo from May 3 to 5.

Jointly established by the General Confederation of Moroccan Enterprises (CGEM) and the Federation of Egyptian Industries, the council aims to strengthen economic and trade relations between the two countries by leveraging the complementary strengths of the Moroccan and Egyptian private sectors, as stated in a CGEM press release.

During the meeting, the two leaders highlighted the strategic role of the council in consolidating a balanced and sustainable economic partnership. They agreed on the development of a joint roadmap focused on promoting cross-investments in promising sectors such as agribusiness, automotive, plastics, textiles, and distribution, according to the same source.

Discussions also covered ways to facilitate business support and enhance interactions between the economic ecosystems of both countries.

Led by Secretary of State for Foreign Trade Omar Hejira and organized in coordination with CGEM, this economic mission to Cairo aims to bolster the presence of Moroccan products in the Egyptian market.

Additionally, the mission will feature a Morocco-Egypt business forum, bringing together Moroccan exporters and Egyptian importers from various sectors, with the objective of stimulating trade exchanges and opening up new avenues for bilateral cooperation.
