El Menzeh in the Rabat–Salé–Kénitra Region Achieves a Major Milestone in Environmental Protection and the Commissioning of Its Sewage Network

The El Menzeh center, located in the Rabat–Salé–Kénitra region, has reached a significant milestone with the commissioning of its modern sewage network. This initiative is part of the pollution mitigation agreement for the Bouregreg Valley and has been realized through the efforts of the Regional Multi-Service Company Rabat–Salé–Kénitra (SRM-RSK).

Main Objectives

The project aims to sustainably protect the environment and improve the quality of life for over 53,000 residents in the long term by reducing pollution and conserving water resources.

Concrete Changes

• Treatment of wastewater prior to discharge for a healthier environment.

• Connection of the network to the Tamesna treatment plant for enhanced efficiency.

• Reduction of pollution in the Bouregreg River and the Sidi Mohammed Ben Abdellah dam.

• 18 km of pipes installed.

• 6 new pumping stations.

• 120 million dirhams invested.

• 4,934 m³/day: capacity for collecting, transferring, and treating wastewater.

This structural project demonstrates the SRM-RSK’s commitment to serving citizens and the environment today and for future generations, while reinforcing the environmental infrastructure of the center.
