Elections: An Exceptional Deadline Granted for Voter Registration

The Ministry of the Interior Announces Exceptional Deadline for Voter Registration
The Ministry of the Interior has announced the opening of an exceptional deadline for registration on the general electoral rolls, aimed at allowing citizens who meet legal criteria to regularize their electoral status.
In a statement, the Interior Department clarifies that this measure is part of the provisions of the law concerning general voter registration. It aims to broaden citizen participation by offering a new opportunity to those who are not yet registered, as well as to individuals who have changed their place of residence.
This catch-up period particularly targets Moroccans who have reached the required legal voting age, those who did not register during the regular deadlines, and voters wishing to transfer their registration to a new electoral district, in accordance with current regulations.
The Ministry emphasizes that applications can be submitted to the competent local administrative authorities, which remain committed to assisting citizens in this process while adhering to the legal procedures and guarantees outlined by the law.
Through this initiative, the government aims to enhance the inclusivity of the electoral process and ensure the effective exercise of the constitutional right to vote, a fundamental pillar of democratic participation.
In this regard, the Ministry of the Interior urges all concerned individuals to take advantage of this exceptional opportunity within the specified deadlines to avoid any unintentional exclusion from the upcoming electoral events.
