Exceptional rainfall signals a promising agricultural season in Morocco.

The Financial Studies and Forecasting Department, under the Ministry of Economy and Finance, indicates that the exceptional rainfall observed in recent months across the Kingdom signals a favorable agricultural season for 2025-2026.
Improvement of the National Water Situation
According to the economic report from March 2026, this rainfall has significantly contributed to enhancing the national water situation. The filling rate of national reservoirs reached 71.6% as of March 16, 2026, compared to 34.8% last year, marking an increase of 36.8 points and achieving a record level over the past decade.
Sufficient Reserves for Agriculture
The volume of water reserves in these reservoirs stands at 12.4 billion cubic meters, providing substantial margins to meet the needs of various agricultural sectors and support agricultural activities during the current season.
Agricultural Sector and Food Industries
Furthermore, the report specifies that the revenue from the agricultural sector and food industries reached 8.6 billion dirhams by the end of January 2026, reflecting a decrease of 9.5% after an increase of 6.5% during the same period last year. This illustrates the impact of market conditions on exports, despite the favorable climate context.
