Expected Weather Disruptions in Morocco

The General Directorate of Meteorology anticipates significant rainfall and showers locally in the Rif, Tangier, Loukkos, Gharb, and Saïss regions for this Thursday, February 5th. The weather will also remain rainy in the Middle Atlas and neighboring western areas, as well as in Walmas and parts of the northern plains.
Morning Fog and Light Precipitation in Some Regions
Fog formations are expected throughout the morning across the northern and central plains, as well as in the northern provinces of the South. Light rain may also affect the High Atlas, central regions, and the Mediterranean coastline.
Strong Wind Gusts and Dust Storms
Strong to very strong gusts of wind will impact the Tangier region, the coastline extending north of Essaouira, the Rif, the Atlas mountains, and the Oriental. Dust storms are predicted in the Oriental region and the far southern parts of the country.
Decrease in Night Temperatures and Increase During the Day
Minimum temperatures will range from -1 to 5°C in the Atlas mountains, from 4 to 10°C in the Rif, the high plateaus, and the eastern slopes of the Atlas, and from 14 to 17°C near the coast. In other areas of the Kingdom, temperatures will vary between 10 and 14°C. Daytime temperatures will see a slight increase.
Strong to Very Strong Sea Conditions
As for the sea conditions, it will be calm to moderately rough in the Mediterranean, strong to very strong in the Strait, and locally rough to strong east of the Strait. Between Cap Spartel and Cap Ghir, the sea will be strong to very strong. It will be calm to moderately rough between Tarfaya and Laâyoune, and rough to strong along other coastlines.
