FC Barcelona: Lewandowski Returns for Match Against Athletic Bilbao

Barcelona’s Robert Lewandowski Cleared to Play Against Athletic Bilbao
FC Barcelona’s striker, Robert Lewandowski, has received medical clearance and is included in the squad for the upcoming match against Athletic Club in Bilbao this Saturday evening at San Mamés, part of the 27th round of La Liga.
The Polish international missed last Tuesday’s Copa del Rey match against Atlético Madrid due to a blow received in the previous weekend’s game against Villarreal, which resulted in a fracture near his left eye socket.
Lewandowski has been training this week with a protective mask, and Barcelona’s coach, Hansi Flick, confirmed in a press conference on Friday that the striker is available for this match.
The squad also sees the return of defender Eric Garcia, who was suspended and missed the match against Atlético.
On the other hand, Alejandro Balde and Jules Kounde are unavailable, prompting the coaching staff to call up reserve team defenders Xavi Espart and Álvaro Cortés. These absences add to those of injured players Frenkie de Jong, Andreas Christensen, and Pablo Páez Gavira, known as “Gavi.”
