Government Chief Aziz Akhannouch Leads Meeting on Health System Upgrade

On Wednesday in Rabat, Government Chief Aziz Akhannouch chaired a meeting focused on tracking the progress of the health system upgrade project, which is receiving particular attention from His Majesty King Mohammed VI.

This meeting included several government officials, such as Minister of Economy and Finance Nadia Fettah, Minister of Health and Social Protection Amine Tahraoui, Minister Delegate in Charge of the Budget Fouzi Lekjaa, and General Director of the National Social Security Fund Hassan Boubrik. The purpose was to assess the advancements made in the implementation of the program for constructing university, regional, and provincial hospitals, which includes the development of 64 projects.

The review also addressed the primary healthcare center rehabilitation program, with a total of 934 centers having been revitalized to date, aiming to reach a total of 1,439 such facilities. Additionally, the meeting discussed the implementation of a program to create territorial health clusters, with a pilot phase scheduled to launch in one of the Kingdom’s regions.

During this gathering, Mr. Akhannouch emphasized that the government’s structural reform of the health system is based on a serious and responsible approach, fully in line with the Royal High Directives. This reform extends beyond mere human and material resource measures, encompassing essential issues related to administrative and institutional governance.

The Government Chief expressed satisfaction regarding the progress made in implementing the various reform programs, while urging the relevant sectors to intensify their efforts and accelerate the realization of all aspects of this reform to ensure its success, in accordance with the Royal High Instructions.
