The Paris Saint-Germain will take on Chelsea FC in the Round of 16 of the UEFA Champions League, as revealed by the draw held on Friday at UEFA’s headquarters.
The first leg will take place on March 10 or 11 at the Parc des Princes, while the return match is scheduled for one week later at Stamford Bridge in London.
During the group stage of the European competition, the Parisian club, reigning champions of Europe, convincingly defeated Atalanta 4-0 at home, followed by a 2-1 victory against FC Barcelona and a dominant 7-2 win at Bayer 04 Leverkusen.
However, PSG faced a setback with a 1-2 loss to Bayern Munich in Paris, before securing a 5-3 win at home against Tottenham Hotspur FC. They also drew 0-0 with Bilbao and suffered a 1-2 defeat at Sporting Portugal.
PSG finished in 11th place in the standings, earning 14 points from 8 matches. They advanced to the knockout stage by eliminating AS Monaco with scores of 3-2 and 2-2 in the playoffs.
Chelsea, winners of the tournament in 2012 and 2021, ended the group phase in 6th place with 2 more points than the Red and Blue, ensuring their direct qualification for the Round of 16 as a seeded team.
