A Strategic Meeting Between Nicolas Forissier and Fouzi Lekjaa
On Thursday, the French Minister Delegate for Foreign Trade and Attractiveness, Nicolas Forissier, met with Fouzi Lekjaa, President of the Morocco 2030 Foundation, to stimulate investments, develop infrastructure, and strengthen economic exchanges between France and Morocco.
Advocating for Stronger Economic Relations
Accompanied by around thirty French business leaders, Mr. Forissier emphasized the commitment to consolidate the Franco-Moroccan economic partnership across various strategic sectors. He lauded Morocco’s achievements, particularly the organization of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (CAN), which he believes showcases the country’s expertise in co-hosting the 2030 World Cup alongside Spain and Portugal.
The 2030 World Cup at the Heart of Discussions
“The goal of France is to build a solid partnership with Morocco centered on commercial and economic projects, supported by the excellence of our bilateral relations,” remarked the minister during a symposium at the Mohammed VI Football Complex. He further added, “We aspire to strengthen our economic ties, particularly in the context of the 2030 World Cup.”
Industrial Cooperation and Bilateral Development
This meeting also provided an opportunity for consultations with several Moroccan ministers about industrial cooperation and the development of bilateral enterprises. “Relations are excellent, and we are determined to advance together to build the future,” he noted.
Learning from French Experience
Finally, Mr. Forissier highlighted that Morocco could benefit from France’s experience as the host of the 1998 World Cup, optimizing preparations for the 2030 tournament. He was joined on this occasion by Philippe Diallo, President of the French Football Federation.
