Weather Forecast: Cold Conditions Expected This Friday

The General Directorate of Meteorology forecasts relatively cold weather across several regions of the Kingdom on Friday, with localized frost formation expected in the morning and night, particularly in the reliefs of the Atlas, the Rif, and the Oriental region.

Frost and Mist Formation

Low clouds accompanied by fog or local mist are also anticipated over the northern and central Atlantic plains, Saïss, the phosphate plateaus, Oulmès, the Souss region, and the northwest of the southern provinces, which could reduce visibility in some areas.

Moderate to Strong Winds in the South

Moderate to occasionally strong winds will blow along the central coasts, the southern Saharan provinces, and the southeast of the country. Sandstorms are also forecasted in the southern provinces, which may impact traffic conditions.

Decreasing and Contrasting Temperatures

Minimum temperatures will range from -3°C to 2°C in the Atlas mountains, 2°C to 4°C in the Rif and eastern high plateaus, and 6°C to 12°C in the remaining regions. In the South, temperatures will vary locally between 17°C and 20°C, and between 12°C and 17°C in other areas of the southern and southeastern provinces.

During the day, a slight decrease in temperatures is expected in the Southeast, while a rise is anticipated in the rest of the country.

Sea Conditions

The sea will be calm to slightly choppy in the Mediterranean, slightly rough to rough in the Strait, and locally rough to very rough between Tangier and Tan-Tan.
