Friday’s Weather: Persistent Rain and Strong Winds in Several Regions of the Kingdom

The General Directorate of Meteorology forecasts that Friday, January 30, 2026, will continue to experience unstable weather across various regions of the Kingdom, characterized by rain or scattered showers, locally accompanied by fairly strong gusts of wind.
Expected Precipitation in Numerous Areas
Rain is particularly anticipated in the Rif, Tangier, Loukkos, Gharb, Saïss, Middle Atlas, and Oulmès regions. The sky will often be cloudy with precipitation expected over the Atlantic plains north of El Jadida, the High Atlas, and northern Oriental regions.
Scattered light rain is also forecasted for the Souss region and the phosphate plateaus, while the weather will remain partially cloudy in the remaining areas of the country.
Wind Gusts and Afternoon Temperature Drops
Considerable winds are anticipated in the northwest, the Mediterranean coast, the Atlas mountain ranges, and the eastern regions.
Minimum temperatures will range between -1 and 5°C in the Atlas highlands, between 7 and 10°C in the Rif and high plateaus, and between 10 and 14°C elsewhere across the territory.
During the day, a drop in temperatures is expected in the northern Atlantic plains, the Oriental region, the Atlas, the eastern Mediterranean coast, and the extreme south, while a slight rise is projected in other areas.
Sea Conditions: Strong to Very Strong Agitation in Some Areas
The sea will be slightly choppy to choppy in the Mediterranean, rough to very rough in the Strait, and strong to very strong between Larache and Sidi Ifni. Waters will become rough to very rough south of Tan-Tan, and locally remain slightly choppy to choppy between Tarfaya and Laâyoune.
