The General Directorate of Meteorology forecasts continued unstable weather across several regions of the Kingdom, due to atmospheric disturbances accompanied by rain and occasionally strong winds, along with a notable drop in temperatures, especially in the mountainous areas.
According to meteorological services, conditions will remain favorable for precipitation and showers in the northwest of the country until next Tuesday. Starting Wednesday, a gradual improvement is expected, with a partly cloudy sky in the extreme northwest.
Wednesday: Locally heavy rain and active winds
For Wednesday, rainy weather accompanied by winds is predicted in several regions. Localized heavy rain and showers will affect the Rif, Loukkos, the Tangier region, and the northwest of the country. The sky will often be cloudy, with precipitation expected in the southwest, Saïss, High and Middle Atlas, as well as on the phosphate plateaus and Oulmès.
Moderate to occasionally strong gusts of wind will impact Tangier, the plains north of Essaouira, Saïss, Rif, the Mediterranean coast, the Atlas, and the Oriental region, with dust clouds likely in parts of the Oriental region and the extreme south.
Maximum temperatures will range from 2 to 10 °C in the Atlas, 6 to 13 °C in the Rif, 27 to 33 °C in the extreme south and southeast, and between 14 and 19 °C across the rest of the territory.
Thursday: Continued precipitation and morning fog
On Thursday, the weather will remain rainy and windy, with sometimes significant rain and showers over the Rif, Tangier, Loukkos, Gharb, and Saïss. Precipitation is also expected in the Middle Atlas, its neighboring western regions, Oulmès, and locally in the northern plains.
Foggy conditions are anticipated in the morning over the northern and central plains, as well as in the northern Southern provinces, while light rain may affect the High Atlas, central regions, and the Mediterranean coast.
Winds will remain moderate to quite strong in the north, Rif, Atlas, and Oriental, with continued dust disturbances in the Oriental region and the extreme south. Minimum temperatures will range between -1 and 5 °C in the Atlas, and between 4 and 10 °C in the Rif and high plateaus, with a slight increase in daytime temperatures.
Friday: Persistent instability and snowfall in the Atlas
On Friday, instability will persist, with rain and showers expected in the Rif, Atlas, and the western neighboring regions, as well as in northern Oriental and the northern and central areas.
Snowfall is expected in the mountainous areas of the Atlas, while the sky will be partly cloudy in the northern Southern provinces. Winds will blow quite strongly, occasionally with strong gusts across the northern and central half of the country, accompanied by a drop in daytime temperatures.
From Saturday to mid-next week: Persistent rain followed by gradual improvement
Starting from Saturday and lasting until Tuesday, conditions will remain favorable for rain and showers in the northwest of the Kingdom. From Wednesday on, occasionally cloudy weather is anticipated in the extreme northwest, indicating a gradual improvement.
Moderate to strong winds will persist in several regions, especially in Tangier, the Rif, the Atlas, Oriental, northern coasts, and the northern Southern provinces, along with a slight overall increase in daytime temperatures.
