Inauguration of the National Superior Institute of Music and Choreographic Arts (INSMAC) for the 2025-2026 Academic Year

Launch of the National Higher Institute of Music and Choreographic Arts (INSMAC) for the 2025-2026 Academic Year
As part of its strategy to enhance artistic education, promote creativity, and support the Cultural and Creative Industries, the Ministry of Youth, Culture, and Communication has announced the opening of the National Higher Institute of Music and Choreographic Arts (INSMAC), set to begin in the 2025-2026 academic year.
Situated in a 9,000 m² facility in the heart of the capital, near the Mohammed V Theater in Rabat—at the intersection of Moulay Rachid Street, Patrice Lumumba Street, and Mansour Ed-Dahbi Avenue—INSMAC will be the first university institution of its kind in Morocco. It aims to become an epicenter of excellence in academic training and research in the fields of music and choreographic arts.
This new establishment fully supports the national momentum to elevate artistic education. It aspires to cultivate a new generation of artists, educators, and creative professionals equipped to meet the demands of the cultural market, both nationally and internationally. Additionally, it aims to advance high-level academic research in musicology and choreography that reflects the richness of Morocco’s cultural heritage.
By adopting an integrated approach to the music and choreographic arts sectors, INSMAC will offer a diverse training program that combines artistic excellence with technical skills and intellectual openness. The institute will grant degrees in line with the LMD system (Bachelor, Master, Doctorate) and provide both practical and theoretical teachings: technical courses for musicians and choreographers, transversal subjects, and a general education focused on contemporary issues in the cultural sector.
Equipped with modern infrastructure that meets international standards, the institute will feature a 400-seat theater, state-of-the-art recording studios, versatile educational spaces, classrooms and conference rooms, a library-media center, and a cafeteria.
Enrollment will begin after the July 2025 baccalaureate results. The launch of INSMAC, scheduled for the 2025-2026 academic year, reaffirms the Ministry’s commitment to raising the quality of national artistic education, promoting Moroccan musical identity, and training skillful professionals capable of supporting the growth of cultural and creative industries on both national and international stages.
