Jordan Dominates Egypt to Secure Top Spot
The Jordanian and Emirati teams have secured their qualifications for the quarterfinals of the Arab Football Cup, hosted in Qatar, following their respective victories against Egypt and Kuwait on the third matchday of Group C.
At Al Bayt Stadium in Al Khor, Jordan, led by coach Jamal Sellami, overwhelmed Egypt with a 3–0 victory. Goals from Mohammed Abuhasheesh (19th minute), Mohammed Abu Zraiq (41st minute), and Ali Olwan via penalty (90+2 minutes) ensured a decisive win for the “Al-Nashama,” who topped the group with a perfect record.
Emirates Claim Victory to Secure Qualification
At Stadium 974, the United Arab Emirates defeated Kuwait 3–1 thanks to a brace from Yahya Alghassani (16th minute, penalty; 18th minute) and a goal from Nicolas Gimenez (88th minute).
Despite being reduced to ten men following Sultan Al Enezi’s red card in the 55th minute, the Kuwaiti team managed to close the gap with a goal from Fahed Al Hajri (59th minute).
Final Standings of Group C and Qualified Teams
After the matches, Jordan finished at the top with 9 points, followed by the United Arab Emirates with 4 points. Egypt (2 points) and Kuwait (1 point) exit the competition at the group stage.
