Launch of the Moroccan Cultural Season in Sweden in Stockholm

On February 3, 2025, the Moroccan Residence in Stockholm hosted a prestigious event titled “Discover Morocco’s Soul: An Evening of Immersion and Wonder”, marking the kickoff of the new Moroccan cultural season in Sweden. This evening offered the Swedish audience a unique immersion into the essence of Morocco, showcasing the richness of its history, art, traditions, and gastronomy.

The event was graced by numerous dignitaries, including ambassadors, academics, artists, journalists, food critics, and several Swedish influencers. Ambassador Karim Medrek expressed his satisfaction with the realization of this initiative for the third consecutive year, emphasizing that the main goal of this event and upcoming programs is to promote the authentic image of Morocco. He also highlighted the importance of preserving the ancestral values of the Kingdom while embracing modernity, under the leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI.

Madam Fatine Charrat Medrek, Vice President of the Association of Women Ambassadors in Sweden, emphasized the diversity and richness of Moroccan culture. She noted that this cultural initiative aims to strengthen the fraternal ties between the Moroccan and Swedish peoples while facilitating exchanges among professionals in the arts and culture sectors.

Moroccan-Swedish author and journalist Maria Zihammou captivated the audience with her personal stories, exploring the influence of Moroccan culture in her own life. Her presentation offered guests a sensory journey through Moroccan cuisine, highlighting the culinary art and hospitality that Morocco is renowned for.

The event was also an opportunity to discover Moroccan artworks, featuring an exhibition of traditional attire, crafts, and landscapes of the Kingdom. Guests had the chance to participate in an exclusive raffle, with three trips to Morocco as prizes.

The evening concluded with a lavish dining buffet and a book signing session by Maria Zihammou, allowing guests to extend the experience by exploring the narratives of a passionate advocate for Moroccan culture and cuisine.
