The Marrakech Film Festival 2025: As part of the 22nd edition of the Marrakech International Film Festival, taking place from November 28 to December 6, 2025, the “Conversations” program will bring together the most iconic figures in global cinema.

According to the organizers, this program offers a unique space where cinema is narrated differently, allowing participants to share their experiences, creative processes, and visions of the seventh art.

Meetings with Icons of Global Cinema

This edition will host renowned international filmmakers and actors:

  • Bong Joon Ho – Palme d’Or and quadruple Oscar winner for Parasite

  • Guillermo del Toro – triple Oscar winner, including for The Shape of Water

  • Andrew Dominik – Australian director (Blonde, Chopper)

  • Laurence Fishburne – American actor and director (The Matrix)

  • Jodie Foster – double Oscar winner (The Silence of the Lambs)

  • Karan Johar – iconic figure in Bollywood

  • Nadine Labaki – Cannes Jury Prize winner for Capharnaüm

  • Kleber Mendonça Filho – award-winning Brazilian director at Cannes

  • Jafar Panahi – Iranian director, winner of the Golden Lion and Palme d’Or

  • Tahar Rahim – French actor, César for Best Actor

  • Yousra – icon of Arab cinema

Two Crossover Conversations will complement the program, offering unprecedented exchanges about the acting profession and collective memory in Moroccan documentary cinema.

Crossover Conversations and Thematic Exchanges

  • Virginie Efira and Chiara Mastroianni: A dialogue on the acting profession, freedom in roles, and the relationship between cinema and worldview.

  • Asmae El Moudir and Karima Saïdi: A discussion on Moroccan documentary, exploring memory, exile, and social transformations through intimate narratives.

These meetings, both intimate and enriching, extend the spirit of the Festival, which aims to be a place of sharing, reflection, and reinvention of cinema.
