Marrakech Film Festival 2025: As part of the 22nd edition of the Marrakech International Film Festival, taking place from November 28 to December 6, 2025, the “Conversations” program will bring together some of the most iconic figures in global cinema.

According to the organizers, this program offers a unique space where cinema is told differently, allowing participants to share their experiences, creative processes, and visions of the seventh art.

Meet the Icons of World Cinema

This edition will host renowned international filmmakers and actors:

  • Bong Joon Ho – Palme d’Or and four-time Oscar winner for Parasite
  • Guillermo del Toro – three-time Oscar winner, including for The Shape of Water
  • Andrew Dominik – Australian director of Blonde and Chopper
  • Laurence Fishburne – American actor and director known for The Matrix
  • Jodie Foster – two-time Oscar winner for The Silence of the Lambs
  • Karan Johar – an iconic figure in Bollywood
  • Nadine Labaki – Jury Prize winner at Cannes for Capharnaüm
  • Kleber Mendonça Filho – Brazilian director awarded at Cannes
  • Jafar Panahi – Iranian director, Golden Lion and Palme d’Or winner
  • Tahar Rahim – French actor, César Award for Best Actor
  • Yousra – an icon of Arab cinema

Two Crossed Conversations will also complement the program, offering unprecedented exchanges on the craft of acting and collective memory in Moroccan documentary cinema.

Crossed Conversations and Thematic Exchanges

  • Virginie Efira and Chiara Mastroianni: a dialogue about the profession of acting, freedom in roles, and the relationship between cinema and world perception.
  • Asmae El Moudir and Karima Saïdi: a discussion on Moroccan documentary, exploring memory, exile, and social transformations through intimate narratives.

These meetings, both intimate and enriching, extend the spirit of the Festival, which aims to be a place for sharing, reflection, and reinvention of cinema.
