The Highlight Program “Conversations” of the Marrakech Film Festival 2025
The Marrakech Film Festival 2025: As part of the 22nd edition of the Marrakech International Film Festival, taking place from November 28 to December 6, 2025, the “Conversations” program will bring together some of the most iconic figures in global cinema.
According to the organizers, this program provides a unique space where cinema is told differently, allowing participants to share their experiences, creative processes, and visions of the seventh art.
Meet the Icons of World Cinema
This edition will host renowned international filmmakers and actors:
Bong Joon Ho – Palme d’Or and quadruple Oscar winner for Parasite
Guillermo del Toro – Triple Oscar winner, including for The Shape of Water
Andrew Dominik – Australian director (Blonde, Chopper)
Laurence Fishburne – American actor and director (The Matrix)
Jodie Foster – Two-time Oscar winner (The Silence of the Lambs)
Karan Johar – Iconic figure in Bollywood
Nadine Labaki – Jury Prize winner at Cannes for Capharnaüm
Kleber Mendonça Filho – Award-winning Brazilian director at Cannes
Jafar Panahi – Iranian director, Gold Lion and Palme d’Or winner
Tahar Rahim – French actor, César Award for Best Actor
Yousra – Icon of Arab cinema
Two Cross Conversations will complete the program, offering unique discussions on the acting profession and collective memory in Moroccan documentary cinema.
Cross Conversations and Thematic Exchanges
Virginie Efira and Chiara Mastroianni: Dialogue on the acting profession, freedom in roles, and the relationship between cinema and world perception.
Asmae El Moudir and Karima Saïdi: Discussion on Moroccan documentary, exploring memory, exile, and social transformations through intimate narratives.
