Meeting of the Joint Commission between OMPIC and EPO
OMPIC and the European Patent Office (EPO) held their joint committee meeting from September 24 to 26, 2025, at the EPO headquarters in Munich, Germany. The meeting was presided over by Mr. Abdelaziz BABQIQI, Director General of OMPIC, and Mr. Antonio CAMPINOS, President of the EPO.
This meeting provided an opportunity to review the progress of cooperation projects between the two offices, particularly in the areas of information technology, examiner capacity building, and the promotion of innovation.
It was also an occasion for both parties to celebrate the tenth anniversary of the cooperation agreement concerning invention patents and to highlight the very positive results of their ten years of collaboration.
At the conclusion of this meeting, both offices reaffirmed their mutual commitment to strengthening their partnership through the signing of a new cooperation program for the 2026-2027 period, which will encompass activities in the areas of patent examination and issuance, computer infrastructure, training, and raising awareness among stakeholders regarding industrial property.
