Ministry of the Interior: In Execution of High Royal Instructions, Intensification of Mobilization to Address Potential Impacts of Weather Disruptions During Winter 2025-2026
National Mobilization Under Royal High Instructions
In accordance with the High Instructions of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist Him, the Ministry of the Interior has elevated the level of mobilization. This effort is in close coordination with various government departments, services, and relevant institutions to address the potential effects of the forecasted weather disruptions for the winter of 2025-2026.
Enhancing Territorial Monitoring and Coordination
Walis of the regions, as well as governors of the concerned prefectures and provinces, have been called upon to intensify ground monitoring of the evolving climatic conditions. They are also tasked with strengthening coordination among stakeholders and implementing preventive and anticipatory measures aimed at protecting communities and limiting potential damage.
Activation of Monitoring Centers
In this context, the command and monitoring center at the Ministry of the Interior has been activated, alongside the establishment and operationalization of provincial monitoring and oversight committees, as part of the National Plan to Combat the Effects of Cold Waves for the 2025-2026 winter season.
Updating the Plan and Expanding Interventions
This plan is based on updating field data, broadening the scope of intervention, and diversifying targeting mechanisms to optimize the effectiveness and speed of actions taken in the affected areas.
Support for Vulnerable Communities
The initiative specifically targets significant portions of the population residing in various douars associated with local authorities spread across 28 prefectures and provinces. Its goal is to provide necessary assistance to affected individuals, alleviate their suffering, and take into account the unique circumstances and risks present in each region.
Logistical Reinforcement and Supply Measures
In a similar spirit of mobilization, the Ministry of the Interior, through its central and regional services, along with the participation of relevant departments, has enhanced intervention capacities through constant situation monitoring, regular supply of essential products and heating resources, as well as proactive deployment of logistical means near roadways threatened by isolation.
Humanitarian Aid and Continuity of Services
The adopted measures also include the distribution of food aid, blankets, and firewood, immediate intervention in emergency situations, maintaining road and telephone connectivity, as well as providing feed for livestock to protect herds in affected areas.
Call to Citizen Vigilance
Reaffirming the total mobilization of public authorities, the Ministry of the Interior urges citizens, particularly those residing in affected areas, to exercise caution, adhere to safety instructions, and avoid travel on roadways at risk of interruption to safeguard human lives and property.
