2025 Africa Cup of Nations
With full confidence, Morocco clinched a 1-0 victory against Mozambique in a friendly match, thanks to a goal from Azzedine Ounahi on Friday night in Tangier, marking their 17th consecutive win.
“Moroccans couldn’t have asked for a better start in their new venue,” remarks the sports newspaper, highlighting that “the impressive streak continues for Walid Regragui’s men, who are raising their record with this 17th consecutive victory.”
The Atlas Lions have won all their matches since March 26, 2024, except for a draw (0-0) against Mauritania.
The Moroccan national team now holds the world record for consecutive wins, a title they secured after their victory (1-0) over Congo last October. The previous record was held by Spain, who achieved 15 consecutive wins between June 2008 and June 2009.
Moreover, Moroccans have the chance to extend their streak further with a victory on Tuesday against Uganda, as they look to build confidence ahead of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, which they will host in just over a month.
