Morocco Highlights Its Economic Strengths at the World Economic Forum in Davos

This week, Karim Zidane, the Minister Delegate for Investment, Convergence, and Evaluation of Public Policies, participated in the 55th annual meeting of the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos, Switzerland. The event, themed “Collaboration in the Age of Intelligence,” served as a pivotal opportunity for Morocco to showcase its achievements and economic potential.

Zidane highlighted the significant progress made by the Kingdom under the leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, emphasizing the strategic initiatives and reforms undertaken by the country. The minister also discussed Morocco’s ambitions to attract international investments, particularly through global energy and digital transitions. According to him, these transitions present new opportunities for Morocco, reinforcing its position as an indispensable player on the global economic stage and a model of sustainability.

During the Forum, Karim Zidane engaged in multiple bilateral meetings with prominent decision-makers and investors, including Vincent Clerc (CEO of A.P. Moller – Maersk), Omar Berrada (CEO of Manchester United), Jim Hagemann Snabe (Chairman of Siemens’ Board), Luc Vandenbulcke (CEO of DEME Group), and Hiroshi Matsuda (Senior Vice President of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries EMEA). These discussions highlighted Morocco’s concrete collaboration opportunities in key sectors such as renewable energy, infrastructure, and advanced technologies.

The event brought together over 3,000 participants from 130 countries, including heads of state, government officials, and leaders from the world’s 1,000 largest companies. Among the notable attendees were Ursula von der Leyen (President of the European Commission), Ding Xuexiang (Chinese Vice Premier), Olaf Scholz (German Federal Chancellor), alongside various heads of government and international organizations.

Forum discussions focused on critical issues such as economic growth, the transformation of industries in the age of intelligence, investment in human resources, environmental protection, and rebuilding trust.

This event provided a premier platform to promote Morocco as a preferred investment destination, thereby enhancing its role as a catalyst in global and regional economic transformation.
