Morocco Ready to Succeed in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations

The President of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation, Fouzi Lekjaa, assured on Monday in Rabat that Morocco has met all the necessary logistical requirements to ensure the success of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON). During the draw ceremony for the competition, held at the Mohammed V National Theater, Mr. Lekjaa highlighted that the Kingdom has established adequate infrastructure, including stadiums, training fields, and other logistical aspects for this major event.

The president of the FRMF also reassured that fans will enjoy optimal conditions to follow the matches, thus creating an opportunity to strengthen the bonds of friendship among African nations. He added that the success of AFCON 2025 would serve as a springboard for hosting the 2030 World Cup, which will also take place in Morocco.

Mr. Lekjaa reminded everyone that the organization of AFCON has the personal oversight of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, emphasizing the particular attention the Sovereign gives to sports activities and the African dimension in his vision for the Kingdom.

In his remarks, the president of the FRMF expressed gratitude to African leaders for entrusting Morocco with the organization of this major event. He highlighted the Kingdom’s commitment and seriousness in undertaking this challenge, while stressing the strong ties that Morocco maintains with African countries across various fields, such as trade, culture, science, and art.

The organization of AFCON 2025 represents a continuation of Morocco’s shared history with Africa, characterized by moments of solidarity, particularly during the struggles for freedom and independence. This competition stands as a new step to affirm Morocco’s commitment, under the leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, to the African continent and to paving the way for a shared future in sports and development.

The final phase of the Africa Cup of Nations 2025 is scheduled to take place from December 21, 2025, to January 18, 2026.
