Morocco Sets a New World Record for Consecutive Wins by Defeating Mozambique

In a display of confidence, Morocco secured a 1-0 victory over Mozambique in a friendly match, thanks to a goal from Azzedine Ounahi, on Friday night in Tangier, marking their 17th consecutive win.

“Moroccans couldn’t have dreamed of a better start in their new venue,” noted a sports newspaper, highlighting that “this beautiful streak continues for Walid Regragui’s men, who improve their own record with a 17th consecutive victory.”

The Atlas Lions have won all their matches since March 26, 2024, except for a draw (0-0) against Mauritania.

The Moroccan national team holds the world record for consecutive wins, with their last victory (1-0) over Congo last October. The previous record was held by Spain, which had 15 consecutive wins between June 2008 and June 2009.

Additionally, it was noted that Moroccans could further enhance their streak with a win against Uganda on Tuesday, continuing to build confidence ahead of the Africa Cup of Nations 2025, which they will host in just over a month.
