Morocco’s Cinematic Showcase at the Berlinale

The Moroccan Cinematographic Center (CCM) has announced its support for a selection of ten Moroccan projects currently in development and post-production. This initiative will take place during the 76th edition of the Berlinale, where Morocco will be the spotlight country at the European Film Market (EFM), scheduled for February 12-18, 2026.

This strategic initiative will allow these projects, led by producers known for their artistic quality and international potential, to gain significant visibility within one of the most influential markets in the global film industry. The goal is to promote opportunities for co-production, distribution, international sales, and access to international funding mechanisms.

According to the CCM’s announcement, this selection underscores the growing recognition of Moroccan cinema, its vibrant creativity, and the professionalism of its practitioners on the international stage.

The call for projects, launched during the National Film Festival held in Tangier from October 17 to 25, 2025, allowed submissions between October 25 and November 24. A specialized committee then selected ten projects that met the artistic, narrative, and professional standards of the FOCUS MAROC – EFM 2026 program.

The selected producers are:

  • Karim Dabbag (Kasbah Films)
  • Merieme Addou (Iris Production)
  • Oumayma Zekri Ajarrai (Seven Shots)
  • Fayçal El Kadiri (Cygnus Productions)
  • Ilham Raouf (Abel Aflam)
  • Alaa Eddine Aljem (Le Moindre Geste)
  • Lotfi Oukhiar (Azir Productions)
  • Rachida Saadi (JanaProd)
  • Lamia Chraibi (La Prod)
  • Khadija Alami (K Films).

These projects will receive personalized professional support, including meetings with international experts, access to key professional networks, and participation in the official EFM program. This support represents a significant opportunity to enhance the international circulation of Moroccan works and fortify their position within the global cinema ecosystem.

Through this initiative, the CCM reaffirms its commitment to fostering a dynamic, innovative, and competitive cinematic ecosystem while showcasing Moroccan talent on some of the most prestigious professional stages.
