Weather Forecast for Friday: A Chilly Day Ahead

The General Directorate of Meteorology (DGM) has announced that the weather expected this Friday will be cold to relatively cold in the mountainous regions of the Atlas, Rif, Southeast, and the eastern high plateaus, with rainfall and snowfall anticipated in several areas across the Kingdom.

Thunderstorms and Rain in Various Regions

Showers and occasional thunderstorms are forecasted for the Rif, northern and central plains, as well as the Souss region, which could aid in enhancing water reserves.

The sky will also be partly cloudy, with scattered showers expected in the eastern parts of the country, the Mediterranean coast, the Southeast, and the northern provinces of the South.

Snowfalls and Moderate Winds

According to the forecast, snow is anticipated on the peaks of the High and Middle Atlas as well as the Rif, with a localized risk on the eastern high plateaus.

Moderate gusts of wind will blow during the day along the northern coasts, the Rif, the Middle Atlas, and the south of the Oriental region, strengthening overnight over the northern and central Atlantic plains.

Decreasing Temperatures

Minimum temperatures will range from -6 to 1°C in the Atlas mountains, from 1 to 7°C in the Rif, eastern high plateaus, and the Southeast, from 12 to 16°C in the northern Sahara provinces, and from 8 to 14°C across the rest of the country.

Maximum temperatures will see a relative increase in the southern part of the eastern region, the Mediterranean coast, the Atlas, the Souss, and the east of the Southern provinces, while remaining stable or slightly decreasing elsewhere.

Sea Conditions

The sea will be slightly to moderately agitated on the Mediterranean, calm to slightly agitated in the Strait, slightly to moderately agitated between Cap Spartel and Larache, agitated between Mehdia and Tarfaya, and slightly to moderately agitated along the rest of the Atlantic coastline.
