Paul Pogba Returns to Training with AS Monaco After 18-Month Suspension

After an 18-month doping suspension, Paul Pogba returned to the pitch this Thursday, participating in his first training session with AS Monaco. At 32 years old, the 2018 World Cup champion is embarking on a new chapter in his career, which has been on hold for nearly two years.

The Monaco club announced that Pogba has reunited with his teammates and will follow an individualized rehabilitation program designed to help him gradually regain his optimal fitness level.

Having joined AS Monaco at the end of June on a two-season contract, the former Juventus midfielder and French international (with 21 caps) hopes to revitalize his career in Ligue 1, where he could be back in competitive action as early as October.

For context, Pogba tested positive for testosterone metabolites, an infraction that initially resulted in a four-year suspension. This sanction was reduced to 18 months by the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS), allowing him to return to the pitch earlier than expected.
