Qatar Announces Interception of 6 Ballistic Missiles and 2 Cruise Missiles

The Qatari Ministry of Defense announced that the country’s armed forces intercepted an Iranian attack on Saturday, which was carried out using ten ballistic missiles and two cruise missiles.

Interception of Multiple Missiles

In a statement, the ministry specified that the Qatari armed forces successfully intercepted six ballistic missiles, while two other ballistic missiles fell into Qatari territorial waters.

The statement added that two additional ballistic missiles landed in an uninhabited area, causing no casualties or damage, while the armed forces also intercepted the two cruise missiles.

No Losses Reported

Qatari authorities emphasized that no human or material losses were recorded as a result of this attack, thanks to the effectiveness of the air defense systems.

Qatar Affirms Its Defense Capability

The Ministry of Defense also stressed that the Qatari armed forces possess all the necessary capabilities to protect the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the country and to firmly address any external threats.

Tense Regional Context

These developments occur in a context of growing tensions in the Middle East, where several Arab countries, including Qatar, have been targeted by drone and missile attacks attributed to Iran since the onset of American-Israeli strikes against the country.
