Rabat Hosts International Ombudsman Institute Board Meetings

From May 12 to 14, the Kingdom of Morocco’s Ombudsman Institution is hosting the board meetings of the International Ombudsman Institute (IIO) in Rabat. This global event brings together representatives from 16 countries across five continents.

The organization of these meetings in Morocco highlights the international recognition of the country’s advanced status in human rights, as well as its institutional progress under the enlightened leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, as noted in an official statement issued by the Ombudsman Institution on Monday.

Choosing Morocco as the venue for this event also underscores the credibility and international standing of the Ombudsman Institution, which is commended for its commitment to regional mediation networks, its active role in defending citizens’ rights, promoting good governance in public services, and advocating for administrative transparency.

During these meetings, the attending ombudsmen will discuss several key issues related to the development of institutional mediation, enhancing international cooperation, and the future evolution of the IIO, all within a global context characterized by profound changes in governance and human rights.
