Rabat Hosts the Annual Tourism Congress

ANVR 2025: A First for Rabat Hosting the Congress

The Dutch Federation of the Travel Industry (ANVR) will hold its annual congress in Morocco for the first time, from November 13 to 16, 2025, under the theme “Connecting,” as announced by the Moroccan National Tourist Office (ONMT).

Organized in Rabat in partnership with the ONMT, this event will bring together over 220 Dutch tourism decision-makers, including leaders from tour operators, airlines, financial institutions, insurance companies, media, and academia.

A Strategic Showcase for Moroccan Tourism

The congress presents a unique opportunity to promote Morocco as a travel destination, providing an ideal setting for professional exchanges, the creation of business synergies, and strengthening Rabat’s position as a preferred destination for travelers from the Benelux region.

According to Achraf Fayda, the Director General of ONMT, “By hosting ANVR 2025, Morocco affirms its place among the major global tourist destinations and positions Rabat, the City of Light and cultural capital, as a convergence point for leaders in European travel.”

Strong Tourist Growth from the Benelux Region

The congress comes against a backdrop of positive dynamics for Moroccan tourism: by the end of August 2025, tourist arrivals from the Benelux are showing growth of 11% for Belgians and 14% for the Dutch compared to 2024.

New Air Route Amsterdam-Rabat

In conjunction with the congress, Transavia has launched a new direct flight between Amsterdam and Rabat, operating twice a week (Thursday and Sunday). This route facilitates business tourism and short stays while allowing travelers to explore prominent cities in northern and central Morocco: Tangier, Chefchaouen, Fes, and Meknes.

ONMT: A Driving Force for Tourist Attractiveness

Through this initiative, ONMT is reaffirming its strategic role in capturing and retaining European markets with high potential, placing Rabat and Morocco on the map as influential destinations for professionals and travelers alike.
